Thankfully scored another opportunity to exhibit a small piece in late October/November ish. More details to come as they are released and finalized.
So ive been hard at work on that + design major, in the meantime i’ll hit you up with a little preview of…….the remix
Yes it is a girl piece again, but with good reason. Youll know why once the gallery deets are out. Last girl for a while

Finally, on a random point Ice coffee is the best drink known to man. This is the best store bought coffee, super rare but go get it if you can find it!

Behind the music

Before the exhibition we had roughly 2 weeks to come up with all of the artworks. I often wonder how artists go from nothing to a full coloured artwork on canvas. Well here it is my version of “behind the scenes” to give you some insight and all of my *cough* “secrets” revealed. Yes it is that easy! you can do this too
with the power of dodgy cameras, fist fights and sleepless nights this what we came up with…

Ive had this massive canvas (maybe 1m x 1.5mish) lying around the house for roughly 2 years, unfinished with the word East, a tiger face and some random bird chilling around. When I started this thing I really like the way the tiger turned out so i swore not to touch it until i thought of something cool……..that never happened.
Well when this exhibition rolled around I knew i needed one giant confronting piece as an ode to Japan and canvas’ of that size are hard to find. So It had to be done, sprayed over as a fresh slate I unintentionally recreated steamed hams and the Aurora Borealis. check it.
What an awkward bird haha
yee ?they? east

Working against the car is rough, I need an easel stat.
Also Danny guest appearancing on drawing a line
That line!

Thats it for now for 99, will post the rest later.

This is my attempt at doing something different, more calculated acrylic and colour wise.
flo doing the black fills/background for me
Masking in the diamonds
Acrylic fills making the shapes pop, not quite the look im after though

Acyrlics and some spray once again to create the girl + helmet. Me also looking super phased.
So yeah that’s it for now, will post up more images and “behind the scenes” soon!

One Track Mind

If ive seen you in the last 2 weeks you probably know by now, but for others Tim, Andrew & I are having our first art exhibition opening on Thursday September 15. So make sure you clear that date and try to be there! More details/location to come as we finalize everything, but its in just under two weeks. Shout out to Sabrina for hooking us up!

With a week break starting next week, i’ve begun prepping some works/merch for it. With a beautiful sunny Friday, it was good weather to set up shop and paint.

My padawan Ant came over and worked on his infinite triangle

going hard in the paint

Illuminati Style, he deed it. Andrew dying in the background, did I mention he’s also exhibiting too? should be very interesting.

I dont want to give away too much yet in terms of progress on my works, but heres a small taste.

props to Flo for hooking up the undercoat and putting in that slave work. Nice drawing of Charles, not too sure who that hairy asian gameshow host on the far left is though.

So with these new works I want want to try some styles I havent done before hopefully suprising people who are familiar with my stuff. But anyways, If all goes to plan i’ll be selling a zine and some big posters for cheap $$$. All content in that should be new and not anywhere on the interwebz yet (mostly because Ive barely started It).

So full colour and large scale. Im a short dude, but this thing still clowns me height wise.

and heres a taste of some new zine material… girls+helmets+space

Never Not Working

Been crazy busy. Its funny how I went through a mad “dry” period during Summer holidays when I had plenty of time but not much work. Now, back at “final” sem and oppuruntites for art are coming literally out of nowhere. Let the juggling games begin. August will be a fun? month.

Firstly id like to invite all you guys to come watch me and Cam “Fingaz” Wall paint up live at The Argyle, in the Rocks this Thursday the 11th as part of Red Bull’s “curates Ar(t)gyle” exhibition. Its to be held every Thursday in August with 2 artists drawing against eachother. 3 hour drawing time from 6-9. So come down, have a drink and watch some dope speed art. Would love to see you all there. Props to Cam for putting me on and getting me listed as an artist.

here are some snaps from last week’s draw-off

Some stuff ive been working on for next, next thursdays exhibition. Forgive the quality, crackberry at its finest…
ive drawn birds for most of my friends as gifts, i can draw these with my eyes closed now.

Progress on my Eskimo lady, pretty much done. Will get better quality pics once i get these industrially scanned or DSLR’d (thankfully everyone has one).

gutted we missed out on Wu-Tang this time, and Method-man again…
