Moist

Over the weekend I exhibited a poster with 19 other artists for the newly opened “Damp Store” in Curl Curl. All of the posters are sold and printed on demand at a crispy A1 size Go over there check out the works/ pick up some original threads the guys are designing.
A low Q version of mine. The theme of the show is “moist”
Props to Qwux/Rah Collective and Damp Space!

Some more stuff from the Manly Art Wall adventures

It was especially dope to be put in the presence of such talented guys. In particular it was great to meet one all of my all time local favs, Ben Brown and to see him kill it. Check out that board!
The boards go on auction real soon, keen to see how much they all go for

Surf, bro.

Went back to Manly to finish off work on the surfboard. At the end of the event all boards get auctioned off with all proceeds going to charity (??)

So a couple of days ago I was rostered to do a live art piece as one of the featured artists for the 1st Aus Open of Surfing event on Manly beach. Asked and accepted literally hours before painting, this is what I came up with…..

Props to Cam Wall for hooking me up aswell as setting up the whole artistic aspect of the event. The event goes on for a few more days with a different artist each day painting a different segment of the wall. Afterwards the wall and a customized surfboard by each artist (including myself) gets sold and donated to charity. So be sure to head down and check out the event. They even built a bowl with a mini skate comp featuring your boy of THPS2 fame, Bob Burnquist.

Cam working the next day

I started at 11 and was supposed to go on till 6/7ish but due to the thunderstorm the event got washed out after 4 hours. Im planning to head down another day this week to finish up the charity board and maybe do more to the wall.
There is also a competition through instagram (#AUSopenofsurf) which you can learn details about here. The most popular (or something) photo wins any segment of the wall of choice. I jumped on to suss it out and this was my personal favourite

Stick Up Kids

Summer feels like its officially here and with people out and about I thought it was time to drop some stickers again. So with this first batch this is my take on overtly dark, almost-gang badges featuring typical skulls/snakes etc.
Also, in 2012 fish are the new birds. The hulk font was done for the hell of it.
So please feel free to print these out and share the love. More summerish designs to come soon!
As a bonus here is a fishy wallpaper for you all, Happy New Year!

2011

A pretty decent year I’d say. Thanks to everyone that came out to any of my gigs/art things through the year, it is fully appreciated. A few days into January, I think its time to start working again and updating this blog on the reg. A few projects are already in the works so watch this space for more updates.

I guess to cap off 2011 i’ll blog a few “bonus” things that happend this year. Think of it as a b-sides of jobs I ceebs’d blogging.

Tagged viv’s hipster couch with a laundry marker. dragon/demon all day everyday

Before the “battle” with the Momorobo crew we had to send over a proof of concept so they had a feel of our style/what to expect. With roughly 20 minutes this is what I came up with.

That same night after seeing me draw live this dude asked If I could sketch something for his daughter Perri. It was pretty flattering and I was down so cheers to you, mysterious drunk man.

A few weeks ago I handpainted these signs to fit an A-frame for The Passage in the cross. I tried my best to get the sets near exactly the same. So if your ever in the cross drop by, peep the signs and grab a cheap feed. I believe babekuhl did the interior murals inside the bar aswell.
2011 Year of the Totem Pole!
To close here are some dumb songs I dug from ’11

Long time no see…
Merry X-mas/Happy Holidays to all! Been busy with things not related to arty things, but will be back in full swing Jan 2012. Until then i’ll serve you up some sweet filler…

Well to wrap where I last left off, Babekuhl’s Techno-Colour Party went down.
Great turnout, free booze/food, amazing works. What more could you ask for on a Wednesday Night. Thanks to everyone that came out and showed some love, also props to that mexican Andrew for luckily winning the custom kicks (this was not rigged, I swear!).

Here are some photos from the night thanks to Everguide

Overall a really great year at Babekuhl with bigger things already planned for 2012.
Lastly a big thanks to the boys for having me and teaching me the ropes throughout the year. As a gift I painted my version of their “Babu-Cloud” character.

Techno Colour

So Babekuhl’s having a Christmas party tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Atrium.
Part rave/part gallery, the party will feature a series of portraits we’ve been working on for 2011 aswell as an accompanying zine. We’ll also showcase the new line of clothes and proddy so bring some cash. Click attending to be on the guestlist if you already haven’t!

As a bonus these sweet air forces (hand painted by Billy) are up for grabs. See you there!
